Salary: HC07 (£32,814 - £36,727 p.a.) for Graduate

HC09 (£41,386 - £44,790 p.a.) for Engineer

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To be responsible for the design, specification and preparation of bills of quantities for Building Services (M&E) engineering services in association with the Council’s property portfolio and current housing stock.

To be responsible for the building energy and engineering design & operation for building engineering services in association with the Council’s property portfolio and current housing stock.

To provide professional and technical advice and information on all aspects of Environmental Design with respect to Mechanical & Public Health Engineering services and its subsequent operation and maintenance in buildings, in line with the Council’s policies.

Requirements

Minimum of BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Buildings Services or Energy Engineering degree and be able to demonstrate relevant design work experience within the Built Environment at a suitable level. An MSc in an appropriate discipline (i.e. recognised by CIBSE) would be advantageous but not essential.

Competent user of computer design packages (e.g. Revit, Autocad, Hevacomp, Stabicad, IES VE, NBS Chorus, etc.).

Skilled in MS Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Energy Management, metering requirements, Energy Efficiency, Sustainability, Gas Regulations, F-Gas Regulations, Electricity Regulations, Building Standards, British Standards, CIBSE, BRIA, IGEM, WRAS & IET guidance.
