Social Services and Healthcare Modern Apprentice

Band 2 (Annex 21)

One year fixed term contract

This unique Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to work in one of our Care homes and also gain experience across a number of different care settings. You will earn a competitive salary, while securing a qualification in partnership with The UHI.

NHS Highland is an accredited Living Wage employer. The current rate is £12.00 and applies to all employees aged 18 and over.

This apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid, it is tailored to you as an individual with learning and assessments based on your needs and aspirations. On successful completion you will be awarded an SVQ2 –Social Services and Healthcare SCQF 6

Our Apprenticeships include a minimum of 3 hours per week dedicated study time, during which you will attend the qualification specific taught sessions provided by the UHI and undertake private study.

To become a NHS Highland apprentice, you must:

  • Be 16-24 years old
  • Live in the Highlands

When you have completed your apprenticeship as a minimum you will be offered a bank contract however you may be offered a permanent job in a Social Care role in NHS Highland.

Fort Augustus - Telford Centre - 30 hours

Fort William - Invernevis House - 30 hours

Grantown on Spey - Grant House - 27 hours

Portree - Home Farm Care Home - 33 hours

Golspie- Seaforth House - 30 hours
