Are you an experienced social work manager with a passion for improving outcomes?

As we continue to strengthen Inverclyde HSCP, we are searching for a new Service Manager to lead on mental health (strategy) and complex care.  The role includes professional leadership of our Mental Health Officer (MHO) service and oversight of social work practice within our alcohol and drug recovery service.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner and manager, whose practice reflects their compassion and values and align with our ambition to keep our citizens safe, improve their wellbeing and reduce inequalities through the delivery of effective collaboration and whole-system partnership working.

You will lead on operational management of service areas including adult mental health services, mental health officer duties, adult support and protection, mental health strategy and complex care. As such, you will have experience of working within the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 and the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland ) Act 2000.  You will also have a strategic responsibility for quality improvement, practice development, standards monitoring, regulatory and associated statutory requirements.

You will require a sound understanding and experience of delivering and managing mental health services and you will be able to lead on strategic improvements. You must be focussed on people, ensuring high quality services that keep them safe and improves their lives.

Inverclyde HSCP is innovative and committed to strong partnership working with our communities which is critical to our success. We have increased challenges because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis on our communities. Nevertheless, this has made us more determined to scale up the positive learning from the past few years including from recent inspection and improvement activity. We will continue to invest in relationships that strengthen communities that reduce inequalities.

As this role includes responsibility for statutory mental health social work services, you will be able to demonstrate success in your career so far, hold a social work qualification and be SSSC registered. You must have the ability to develop a strong culture that can deliver performance improvement, meet statutory duties and improve outcomes for our citizens.

If you believe you can meet the challenges of this important role then we would welcome your application.
