Essential

SVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation course and complete the SECTT(Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust) FICA (Final Integrated Competence Assessment) and ACA (Advanced Competence Assessment)assessments or equivalent qualification eg City & Guilds Electrical Engineering

SELECT qualification in the current addition for Electrical Installations to BS 7671

Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

IOSH Working Safely or equivalent

Where the operative is required to use specific plant and equipment the post of electrician requires to be trained and certified in the following equipment to allow assessment and inspection prior to the use; of ladders and steps; electric raggler, abrasive wheels, core cutters, LOLER/ cherry pickers

To be fully competent in the role the Jobholder will be required to complete the following training: Fire Awareness; Basic Safe Lifting and Handling Techniques; Asbestos  Awareness; Health and Safety for Work Equipment; Working at height/using a ladder awareness/training; General risk awareness (covering risk assessments and safe systems of work); Hand arm vibration awareness; PPE awareness; Basics of CDM; Health awareness (i.e. covering Carbon monoxide, dermatitis, respiratory disease, Noise and stress); Confined space training.

A clean driving licence.

The jobholder should have previous experience in the electrical trade in a maintenance environment.

Desirable

SELECT qualification in Safe Isolation Procedures and Scottish Building Standards.

The Jobholder will be required to complete the following training: Hazardous Substances;  Manual Handling in a High Risk Environment; Violence at Work.

Based on 39 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £34,269.73 per annum.
