As one of a team of Business Support Officers responsible for co-ordinating pre-school, primary and secondary school pupil placements, overseeing the administration of early learning and childcare provision, including priority 2 year olds, and co-ordinating staff planning for the Children, Young People and Partnerships Directorate, you will have a key role to play in supporting the provision of education in Midlothian.
You will have responsibility for ensuring that the council meets its legal obligations relating to a range of duties including administration of placements and appeals, and producing management information. You will respond to queries from parents, carers, schools and senior managers while adhering to Data Protection regulations.
You will report to the Principal Officer, Workforce, Policy and Pupil Placement.
KNOWLEDGE
It is essential that you hold a degree, HND or SVQ Level 4 and/or are able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
Substantial relevant administrative experience, which includes working in a recognised position of responsibility, is essential. Experience of analysing complex information and working with the public, as well as computer skills, are also required.
