We are seeking an Information Officer to support continuous improvement within the Children, Young People and Partnerships directorate. As part of the Performance team, you have a leading role in supporting service delivery through collating, analysing and interpreting data and information. A high degree of IT literacy is required as is the ability to embrace the use of new systems quickly. The successful candidate will also be required to promote and develop partnership working with services and teams in the council. The principal responsibilities include leading on the collation, validation and submission of statutory information; managing performance datasets within Children Services; organising and monitoring data analysis; and playing a leading role for freedom of information and subject access requests.

KNOWLEDGE:

Relevant degree level qualification indicative of the ability to research, analyse and report is essential. In exceptional circumstances consideration will be given to individuals who can demonstrate appropriate and relevant experience in this area.

Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office packages is essential and experience of other project management tools would be desirable.

Proven experience of working with a wide range of statistical and other data sources, involving data collection, collation, analysis and interpretation

Experience of working as part of a team.

Experience of working with the public.

Ability to demonstrate expertise, familiarity and confidence in information handling, analysis and interpretation.

Ability to demonstrate familiarity and confidence in use and development of spreadsheet applications and relational databases.

Ability to think creatively and to discern trends and potential relationship between data sources, and to initiate research activity using a range of data sources.

Ability to prepare and present reports on data, both a technical and non-technical nature, tailored, as appropriate, to the audience.

Customer-focussed with excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills with the ability to work to tight and often conflicting deadlines and secure positive outcomes.
