Following restructure and significant investment in road services, Midlothian council have an exciting opportunity for a Project officer to join the team delivering essential support functions such as Asset Management, Risk reviews and customer handling. 

Applications are invited from dynamic individuals who can work as part of a team, but also focus on sole projects. Working closely with team leaders, senior officers, and management to deliver road services both functionally and legally you will have a good base knowledge of road services with qualifications and/or experience to demonstrate coupled with ability to use Microsoft packages to include excel and project.

A forward-facing role, with frequent dialogue with others both internal and external of the organisation a high level of communication skill is required both verbally and written.

KNOWLEDGE:

Relevant SCQF Level 7 / HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline and/or be able to

demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous

experience.

IT literate and experienced in using Microsoft software packages and able to rapidly adapt to service specific software applications and make or lead suggestions for improvements.

A full current UK driving licence.

Operational knowledge in their area of responsibility of operations and legislation and Council

policy is essential to deliver services and to make balanced judgements about operational priorities in tight timescales.

Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Drivers licence advantageous.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £31,633.60 per annum.
