We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Energy & Sustainability team. The technical officer role will support the expansion of council owned Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure within North Ayrshire to improve the charging network across the region, support the up take  of EV’s, assist in achieving the ambitious target to become a net-zero authority by 2030 and deliver the aspirational targets set out in the Councils EV Strategy 2021-2025. We are looking for an individual who has significant experience in the EV charging infrastructure sector, understand howto manage it end to end and deploy it successfully, including but not limited to, site surveys and appraisals, preparation of budget costs, project briefs and contract documents, procuring contracts, engaging with Distribution Network Operator’s and the management of consultants and installation contractors. Reporting to the Team Manager the post holder will deliver the priority actions set out within the Electric Vehicle Strategy and play an active role in the development and implementation of existing and new EV infrastructure programmes. EV infrastructure expansion programmes are delivered through a combination of internal and external grant funding and it is therefore crucial to the role that projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within agreed budgets. To deliver these functions the post holder will be expected to work closely with Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government, external partners, colleagues from other services within the Council, internal and external stakeholders and community groups (as appropriate).
