We are looking for flexible individual to take up the position of Data Analyst within the Housing Strategy, Development and Data team within the Education, Leisure and Housing Directorate.

The successful candidate will work closely with the other Data Analyst within the team and together play a key role in supporting and influencing the development of relevant datasets to appropriately reflect the information needs of the Housing Service.

You will provide advice and guidance on data and analytical matters to both internal and external customers and carry out innovative analyses of data as necessary. This is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of matters relating the development of housing infrastructure and data control across the Directorate which contribute to the management and coordination of strategy, policy and planning.

Applicants should be data and data management systems literate; familiarity with housing and homelessness legislation would be an advantage but further training will be provided.

You should be educated to Higher, SVQ 3 or equivalent SCQF level qualification in a subject relevant to the role. Additionally, you should hold the Professional Development Award in Housing Law for Advisors at SCQF Level 6 or achieve this during the first intake following appointment.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

Prospective applicants are invited to discuss the post by contacting David Brown, Service Manager (Resources) by telephone on 01856 873535 extension 2421, or by email on David.Brown@orkney.gov.uk.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place in week commencing 26 August 2024.

Closing Date: Sunday 4 August 2024

Please note that interview expenses will not be paid for this post.
