The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.
You will be reporting to the Service Manager (Enterprise).
Your working pattern is full time. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive contribution to Orkney’s economy and business community. You will lead a skilled and experienced team working to ensure that local people and businesses benefit from key developments taking place in Orkney.
The purpose of this role is to manage the development and delivery of economic development services including strategic economic planning, business development (including key sectors), supporting community development and overseeing the management of the Business Gateway.
As Economic Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic economic policy and for making recommendations on specific strategic and policy matters.
The ability to influence across organisational and agency boundaries is essential, as is experience and a sound knowledge of project planning and implementation
