We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to become part of the IT Service team within the Council’s Neighbourhood Services and Infrastructure directorate in Kirkwall, Orkney.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in desktop support, adept at diagnosing and resolving user hardware and software problems. Additionally, this role demands an enthusiastic attitude towards supporting the diverse range of systems managed by Orkney Islands Council, requiring exceptional technical abilities and the capacity to learn and maintain new systems to meet corporate standards.
The postholder will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme which is a defined benefit scheme for which the employer contribution paid is currently 15%. In addition to the salary paid, a flexitime scheme and generous annual leave entitlement is also available.
This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
