From an innovative renewables industry to a busy oil terminal, from world-class heritage sites to a vibrant cultural scene, there is a lot going on in Orkney.
Orkney provides a beautiful setting in which to live and work and a wonderful opportunity to combine a fulfilling and challenging career with the best that the islands can offer in terms of lifestyle. Our vibrant and forward-thinking community is regularly voted one of the best places to live in Scotland.
Orkney Islands Council is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Licensing Officer to join its Licensing Team. You will be expected to assess and administer licence applications, inform customers about licensing requirements and assist with preparation of reports for the Licensing Committee and the Licensing Board.
You will handle applications and queries across the full range of licensing areas, including liquor, gambling and civic government, including the Council’s short-term lets licensing scheme.
You should either hold a licensing Paralegal qualification (equivalent to SVQ4) or have a minimum of five years’ previous relevant experience, as detailed in the Essential Experience section of the Person Specification.
