£27,157 - £27,794 / £14.08 - £14.41 per hour (including of Distant Islands Allowance)
Applications are invited for the above post within Marine Services and Transportation.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join Marine Services and Transportation as Piers and Harbours Technician. Orkney Marine Services maintains harbour infrastructure on the Orkney Mainland but also on all the outlying Islands.
Additionally, a fleet of vessels and navigation systems based afloat and ashore.
You will be based at the Marine Services Workshop at Scapa however you will be expected to work at any harbour location within Orkney to maintain the electrical infrastructure. The work is varied from day to day and calls for a flexible approach and to work as part of team in a multi skilled environment.
You should hold an SVQ 3 or equivalent level qualification in electrical, electronic or Mechanical or Building Services.
You will work under the supervision of the Marine Services Electrician.
It is essential that you hold a full driving licence and a trailer towing endorsement would be desirable. Experience with Marine Electrics and complex systems will be an advantage.
This post requires Basic Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
