Relief Assistant Pier Worker, North Ronaldsay
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£12.17 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
Applicants are sought to join our team of Assistant Pier Workers in North Ronaldsay.
The post involves assisting the Pier Worker in North Ronaldsay with Ferry Services vessel berthing operations and includes marshalling passengers and marshalling / inspection of vehicles and their loads before boarding.
The post also requires handling of ships ropes and gangways (as required) during berthing operations.
You will be able to show an ability to establish good working relationships with all levels of staff and public and the ability to provide a professional service.
Fork lift experience would be an advantage.
It is essential that you live on North Ronaldsay and ideally should hold a full and current driving licence.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
