Relief Cook
Mainland Orkney and Outer Isles Schools
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£15.94 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
The purpose of this role is to help to provide the school meals service on a relief basis to cover for holiday and sickness absence.
Duties include preparation, cooking and service of food, supervision of staff, menu planning, ordering of provisions, ensuring all aspects of service provision complies with food safety and completion of associated records, cash handling and liaising with school staff, parents and pupils.
The necessary qualification, experience and skills required for this role are an Elementary Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent and a Food Preparation Qualification e.g. NVQ level 2, C+G 706/1 + 706/2 and previous experience of food preparation, cooking and service.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
This post is a regulated role with children and requires Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
