Relief Swimming Instructor

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£17.30 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

Swimming Instructors are required to provide swimming instruction for school swimming programmes and Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim programmes operated at the Stromness Swimming Pool. The successful applicant will also assist in monitoring swimming ability and progress, providing such information to other teachers working in the service.

The successful candidate will be expected to work shifts covering school and public sessions throughout the opening hours.

A UKCC Level 1 or 2 teaching, SSTQ or coaching qualification is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
