Orkney has a rich heritage with 5000 years of innovation stretching from its neolithic past to its world leading position in the field of marine and renewable energy. As Sustainable Regeneration Funding Manager you will be based in Orkney and one of the first appointments of a new team within Orkney Islands Council.
You should be ambitious, enthusiastic and committed to sustainable development and the transition to net zero. You will use your knowledge and experience from previous roles and sectors to help the development and improvement of the wider Council services. You will be ambitious to achieve positive outcomes for the Orkney community and driven to work collaboratively to identify, secure and manage current and new funding opportunities.
You will be responsible for project managing funding applications whilst working collaboratively and proactively with colleagues and wider partners to develop and submit new large multi-disciplinary funding bids.
Identifying other potential sources of funding will be key. Building on our islands advantage you will have the opportunity to explore and take forward other routes of fundraising and investment.
Your proactive approach and support will be welcomed across the Council as well as across the Orkney Community Partnership and colleagues working in our universities, businesses, third and voluntary sectors.
The minimum knowledge required for this role can be evidenced by either:
Holding a qualification in a relevant subject at SCQF 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship OR by having a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of this person specification
You will have a main office based in Orkney with flexible work arrangements available and should be able to travel between various work locations within Orkney and further afield to meet the operational requirements of the service.
