Teacher of Geography/Social Subjects

28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
Temporary until 3 June 2025

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence. You will be joining departments and other teams of staff who are dedicated to providing the best for all young people.

The school enjoys good relations with local businesses and industry with many senior pupils taking advantage of the opportunity to participate in work experience programmes. A wide range of extra-curricular activities including drama, music and sport are available to pupils.

You will be able to teach all aspects of the subject across all stages, including aspects of interdisciplinary learning. You will be joining a highly successful team and well-resourced school.

Salary will be based on the Main Grade Scale of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance.

You must be registered, or in the process of registering, with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
