As a Depute Head Teacher in our school you will aspire for excellence as you lead the continuous improvement of learning and teaching within our 2-18 through school. You will support teachers and our wider school team to provide learning opportunities that excite and nurture children and young people whilst offering them stimulating experiences that promote curiosity and learning.

In addition to leading a range of school improvement priorities relating to both the wider work of our primary and 2-18 campus, the successful candidate will have specific responsibility for leading improvement in our Nursery and Early Years provision.

You will also have shown commitment to establishing, sustaining, and enhancing the culture of self-evaluation for school improvement and have proven your commitment to your own professional learning through your engagement and reflection in an appropriate range of activities.

At a time of exciting change and development within our school, this role offers the right candidate a rare opportunity to join a highly committed team working towards the provision of a seamless learning journey spanning multiple sectors. Our school motto is ‘Strive to Excel’ and, working together, we encourage all children and young people to aspire to be the best they can be. Our aim is to build a community of learners who are: Happy; Engaged; Ambitious; Respectful; Trustworthy - The Community School of Auchterarder, at the HEART of our community.

The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district. We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across three sectors.

Our school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford, and Dunning.
