Kinross High School is a thriving and ambitious learning community within Loch Leven Community Campus, committed to providing high-quality learning experiences and ensuring that every young person is supported to achieve success. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Depute Head Teacher who shares our commitment to excellence, equity and inclusion and who will play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for all learners.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Depute Head Teacher will provide strategic leadership across safeguarding and child protection, wellbeing, attendance and engagement, Inclusion Support Provision (ISP), Support for Learning and pastoral care. The postholder will work collaboratively with pupils, families, staff and partner agencies to ensure that all young people are safe, supported and included and that barriers to learning are identified and addressed effectively.
The successful candidate will also act as Head of Year for two year groups, providing visible leadership and oversight of learner wellbeing, attainment and achievement. They will work closely with Principal Teachers of Guidance, support staff and families to ensure that young people receive high-quality pastoral support and guidance throughout their school journey.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic direction of the school, lead improvement across their areas of responsibility and support the delivery of the school's vision and priorities. They will play a central role in promoting positive relationships, improving attendance and engagement, strengthening inclusive practice and ensuring that learners' rights, wellbeing and individual needs are at the heart of decision-making.

Skills & Experience Required
We are seeking an experienced and highly effective leader who demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and excellence for all learners.
The successful candidate will be fully registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland and will have a proven track record of successful leadership and school improvement. They will possess a sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, additional support needs, inclusive practice and approaches that promote positive wellbeing, attendance and engagement.
They will have experience of leading and managing change, using evidence and data to improve outcomes, and working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to build positive relationships with young people, families, staff and partner agencies.
The successful candidate will be a visible and approachable leader who can inspire others, work collaboratively and maintain a clear focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for every learner. They will demonstrate resilience, professional integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement within a values-led Scottish education context.
