An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Mechanical Services Technician, within Perth & Kinross Council.

The post will form part of the Energy and Engineering Team within Property Services which is responsible for the provision of a wide range of building related services to public buildings.

The role has been created to allow the council to continue with improvement works including statutory compliance throughout its estate portfolio.

The role will require co-ordination of all Mechanical infrastructure including gas and water services in accordance with relevant regulations and standards within the council’s operational buildings.

The works are anticipated to be carried out during normal working hours; however, there may be instances when the post holders will be required to work out with these hours to minimise disruption to services.

There is also an expectation that the post holder will work on other Mechanical and Energy related Infrastructure projects such as replacement heating and ventilation systems, BMS upgrades.

An additional part of the role will be the requirement to meet future energy savings targets and can incorporate new and low carbon technologies into all designs and proposals providing a cost-effective energy efficient solution.

Requirements

Are you a time served Gas Engineer looking for a position with excellent benefits?

We are looking for an individual who is gas safe qualified ideally in both domestic and commercial installations, although consideration will be given to applicants with domestic only. To undertake the role, we require excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to complete and implement projects within target deadlines. Some design and contract management experience would also be advantageous for the role.

You must be capable of developing innovative solutions and provide technical support, whilst being self-motivated and confident with excellent communication skills to establish good working relationships.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Property Professionals you will engage effectively with a wide and diverse audience including Technical and non-Technical.

It is expected that the individuals will have knowledge in the use of some computer aided packages such as Microsoft Office and use of other packages such as Autocad would be advantageous.
