St Ninian's Episcopal Primary School Nursery, Perth
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to join the friendly and ambitious team at St. Ninian's Episcopal Primary, ELC.
As a Play Assistant you will assist in the planning and provision of high-quality play and lunchtime experiences within the nursery, helping to provide excellent care and a comprehensive range of appropriate, stimulating and creative learning activities for children aged 3 - 5.
We are proud of our nurturing lunchtime and snack time experiences, which is a significant part of this role. As a Play Assistant, you will be responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of mealtimes, ensuring high standards of food hygiene are met.
This role is a permanent, term-time role.
Requirements
No entry qualifications are required, however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below:
- NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare.
- SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).
It is essential that you gain registration as a support worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 3 months of commencing employment and are responsible for maintaining annual membership.
The Individual
We are looking for an individual who has a genuine interest in, and commitment to, working with children in a professional capacity within an early learning and childcare environment.
The role is child-focussed which requires sensitivity, patience and compassion along with a welcoming approach aimed at generating a feeling of trust and safety for children and their parents/carers.
A genuine interest in the development of children and their wellbeing is essential, along with important qualities such as kindness, sensitivity, nurture, respect and the ability to always maintain confidentiality. Having the ability to work in a team situation is essential.
