Street Sweeping Operative - PKC12197
£23,819 - £24,889
Crieff Depot

The post holder is required to work on a variety of environment service tasks and carry out a wide range of duties associated with this service including street sweeping, collection, and removal of refuse. 

Also, from time to time other tasks may be required to be undertaken such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, pesticide application, removal of litter, debris, leaves, and weeds, and assisting with burial duties as required.

In addition, duties may also involve providing cover at civic amenity sites and for refuse collection loading as requested by supervisory staff.  

These duties will require the use and operation of the usual range of associated tools and equipment and will also include the requirement to drive a vehicle.

As part of a team, you will perform maintenance tasks throughout the Strathearn area and any other Environment Service's tasks as and when required.

You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.  

You must be a team player who understands the importance of good morale and proactively pursues good professional relationships with colleagues.

A full category B driving licence is essential (manual transmission), as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.  A C1 and/or C1+E driving licence and full CPC are desirable for this post.

The Environment Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system involving weekend working.  The overall aim of the exercise is to secure a modern system that will comply with all Road Transport Regulations and provide continuous seven days a week working. 

The contracted shift pattern is Monday - Thursday, 36 hours.
