We currently have the following opportunity:

£15.92 per hour
Various Locations in the Perth & Kinross Council Area
We are seeking interest from suitably qualified individuals to be on a supply list to provide absence cover for school technicians.
The technician role in PKC secondary schools is central to the safe and effective preparation of resources, equipment and materials required for practical learning in Science, Home Economics, Art and Design and Technical departments.
Typical tasks might include topping up kits, making fresh chemicals, providing microbiology supplies and helping in classroom demonstrations.
Other duties relating to this role would be the provision of whole school support, replacing printer toner and other parts, helping staff with basic classroom IT equipment and liaising with colleagues in IT to arrange repairs and/or maintenance. Tasks may also include setting up resources for events such as assemblies or performances.
Engagement will be on an ad-hoc basis, as and when cover is required, by agreement with the school’s Business Managers.
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
Skills & Experience Required
This post requires you to be familiar with COSHH regulations and the safe handling of chemicals.
Ideally you will hold either an SVQ level 3 or SCQF Level 6 in Science or an equivalent qualification.
We are looking for someone who will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a polite, friendly and professional manner.
You must be able to cope with the demands of the job and work well within a team using effective communication and collaboration with colleagues.
