Fairview School, Perth

We are looking for a GTCS registered teacher with experience of working with pupils who have a range of severe and complex needs to join our amazing team at Fairview School.

The post is full time and based in Fairview School which is the authority's only special school in Perth and Kinross Council for children and young people aged 3-18.

This role may include some days in a class covering all aspects of learning and teaching for a particular class grouping and also time covering RCCT across the whole school, however, if candidates has a specialisation we would consider their skillset in placement and this will be discussed at interview.

Full induction and essential training will be given including Moving and Handling.

Interviews will take place the week beginning the 5 August 2024 on MS Teams as ideally the successful candidate will start on the 26 August 2024 (or as close to that date as possible).

Responsibilities

 

 

The Individual

We are looking for someone who has experience working with children and young people with severe and complex learning needs, however, having the right approach and values are equally important.

At Fairview we promote a low arousal approach and tailor all learning to meeting the needs of each individual pupil.

The newly developed curriculum focuses on skills for life, learning and work and pupils work across a range of context and learning environments including the community.

Class Teachers plan, deliver and assess the learning experiences for each pupil in their group (on average a class of 6) and support a team of 3 or 4 pupil support assistants.

Being able to work in a team, be organised and plan for a range of learners is essential.  Being able to be flexible is also essential.
