£47,620 - £51,280
Pullar House, Perth

This is an exciting time to join Perth & Kinross Council and we're looking for an inspirational team leader to join us on our transformation journey as we redesign how we work with our communities.

We are an ambitious Council, with bold and exciting projects planned over the coming years that will ensure the city of Perth, our principal towns, and our stunning countryside are places where everyone is able to live life well.

You will play a central role in delivering this ambition, leading a team focussed on delivery of local employability and skills support.

You will lead on our plans to ensure we deliver a person-centred approach to employability and skills, delivered in partnership with others, and in community settings.

We provide services to adults within Perth and Kinross but have recently developed a new service offering to parents to get them into work, or progress in work. This will help to address significant child poverty across the area.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate a strategic mindset and a collaborative working style.

Responsibilities

In addition to the core deliverables above the post holder will be expected to:

Work strategically and collaboratively with others both within the Council and with partners to improve and target our services.

Providing reports to senior management, and the Community Planning Partnership, the Local Employability Partnership, and the Anti-Poverty Taskforce.

Be responsible for personnel matters including ensuring adherence to HR policies and encouraging and supporting staff development.

To provide leadership and support to members of the team in carrying out their duties and taking forward their work.

The Individual

We are looking for an ambitious individual who can demonstrate a strategic mindset and a collaborative working style. With experience of working in a Skills and Employability delivery environment.

You will have experience of Managing Staff.

You will have experience working in a team delivering Skills and Employment Support to individuals.

The Council is currently offering a hybrid working model, offering access to office working on some days/when required, on a temporary basis, with longer term options becoming available in the future. We are committed to being a more inclusive employer - to ensure we can consider any reasonable adjustments, please either contact the recruiting manager to discuss any individual circumstances, discuss at interview or, if you prefer, after any conditional offer is made.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on 20th or 21st of December 2023.

If you would like any more information regarding this vacancy, please contact Alison Seggie, Service Manager - People, Partnership and Funding by emailing alseggie@pkc.gov.uk.

When applying for this post, please provide current contact details (including e-mail addresses) for two referees, one should be your present or most recent employer. However, if you are an existing employee of Perth & Kinross Council, you are only required to provide reference details for your current employer.

At PKC our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of the Perth and Kinross Offer. In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours. Find out more about PKC and you could soon be joining our team!

Please APPLY ONLINE. Facilities are available at all public libraries in Perth and Kinross. If you have a disability and require reasonable adjustments, please call 01738 475555 to discuss.
