Perth and Kinross Council are excited to be recruiting for a Waste Services Officer who will be required to undertake a range of tasks, including:-
assisting with procurement, management and monitoring of contracts in Waste Services; ensuring all procurement and contract management complies with Council Contract Rules and relevant procurement  legislation and guidelines, including electronic tendering; undertaking project management activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects in line with established objectives.
 
Along with the above and to ensure the smooth running of these activities you will plan and develop the Procurement Timeline Programme for Waste Services, whilst also being a key person dealing with the procurement journey. You will also assist with a range of tasks and contract management, including monitoring and updating the Corporate Contracts Register, reviewing Community Benefits and collating relevant correspondence and contract documents. When relevant you will undertake subprojects to assist the Waste Services Team deliver on both internal & legislative projects. We are looking for a positive person who can integrate into the Waste Services team, who is happy to work along side colleagues as well as getting on with their own tasks. You must be able to work to deadlines, so good organisational skills is a must. 

The Individual

For you to undertake the key aspects of the post you will have relevant experience in a procurement, contract management or bid role in a comparable organisation and sound knowledge of public procurement regulations and legislation, along with experience of project management. The post is one that requires a variety of communication channels, so you must be able to efficiently communicate orally and in writing and with a range of internal and external people. All aspects of the post requires a person who has an attention to detail with high numeracy skills. Holding a relevant HNC is required for the post.
