Employment Support Team, 41d St Catherine’s Road, Perth
This is an exciting opportunity to join the HSCP's Employment Support Team.
Do you have experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, severe and enduring mental health conditions, autism, acquired brain injury, physical disabilities and sensory loss?
The post holder will provide an employability service for adults who have a range of barriers to access work.
Do you have an understanding of what is needed to help people get a job and keep a job?
You will provide quality in-work support to people which will involve working alongside the person to help them learn the job role in a variety of work sectors and locations such as recycling, horticulture, retail, office, leisure and hospitality.
Are you the right person to support others, work on your own, with our team, and work professionally with employers?
As a valuable team member, you will be responsible for supporting individuals on a caseload through all 5 stages of the employability pipeline. You will be working with employers throughout the whole of Perth and Kinross area and progressing work related opportunities.
You will liaise with colleagues, customers, service users, employers, parents and carers and other professionals.
Are you able to get around, as you will have the opportunity to work across Perth & Kinross?
Driving is a job requirement to be able to carry out a function that is intrinsic to the operational needs of the service.
The role requires some home working as well as working in various localities in Perth and Kinross.

Yes? The you will be able to support individuals with disabilities / disadvantages to access paid employment in a wide variety of sectors.
 
As an employee, experience of working in an employability related area supporting vulnerable adults, and an awareness of Health & Safety would be desirable.
 
You will be expected to advocate for people with barriers to employment and promote equality in a diverse range of workplaces.
 
Do you have excellent communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and written?
 
Yes? You will be able to use these skills, along with IT skills to work on own initiative and as part of a busy team.

Do you want to learn and have the ability to undertake a qualification?
 
Yes? Ideally you will have an SVQ 2 in health and social care and a supported employment qualification as a minimum, but we can help you to achieve this.
