Additional Support Needs Assistant (Term Time Part Time) (Temporary)

We are looking for a highly motivated person who is committed to working with young people/pupils with Additional Support Needs.

 

Support staff are deployed to support young people within schools and other establishments across Renfrewshire.

 

You will report to and be managed by the head of establishment on a day to day basis with further direction by class teachers. You must be able to support pupils who have a wide range of needs, including personal care.

 

It is essential that you have effective literacy, ICT and numeracy skills; previous experience working with primary and/ or secondary and /or Pre 5 aged children; be flexible; be committed to the task involved; a general aptitude for working with young people in various curricular areas and the ability to work as part of a team.

 

It is desirable that you have appropriate qualifications for working with children, are willing to undertake further training and that you have the ability to deal diplomatically with children if difficult situations arise.

 

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for three months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
