Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an experienced Depute Head of Centre to work as part of the management team.

 

 

The main duties of the post are supporting the development of effective channels of communication with children, parent’s staff and other professionals; assisting with the management, development and implementation of the curriculum and supporting and leading staff to ensure that the progress of children is monitored, assessed, recorded in line with council policies and procedures. You will be expected to deputise for the Head of Centre in their absence.

 

 

It is essential you have practical experience in working with pre-five children in a relevant setting; in curriculum planning and delivering a curriculum as well as a commitment to developing parental involvement. You must have sound knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre-Birth to Three Guidance likewise able to demonstrate a clear understanding of child development. It is desirable that you have experience of working with children with additional support needs and in self-evaluation/quality assurance.

 

 

It is essential that you possess an HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, in addition you must be working towards/or willing to work towards a BA in childhood practice or equivalent.

 

Successful applications must also meet the registration requirements of SSSC.
