We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Children’s House Manager with the capacity to promote and develop our underpinning Philosophy of Care for young people who are looked after and accommodated in our residential childrens houses. The post holder will ensure that young people within the service receive the highest standard of care and support, both emotionally and physically to prepare them for independent living.

 

As the Registered Manager of this service you will be responsible for the day to day running of the house, planning for individual young people and management of staff and performance. You will require being an excellent communicator and demonstrate great leadership skills which will inspire staff to continually improve the service and achieve positive outcomes for young people. Experience of residential childcare in a therapeutic setting at a senior level and knowledge and research and practice in what works within residential child care is essential.

 

You must have a qualification at minimum HNC plus SVQ4 level and have the ability to achieve a Management Certificate at or above SCQF Level 8. It is desirable that you have qualifications in Social Pedagogue, SVQ Assessor, Practice Teacher, Specialist Skills, for example Counselling, Outdoor Pursuits. You must be registered with the SSSC or other appropriate Social Care Regulatory Body

 

Renfrewshire Councils Residential Children’s Services is underpinned by a Social Pedagogy Approach which supports young people’s well being, learning and growth. This post requires experience and knowledge of this approach and a commitment to continually develop this.
