This is an exciting time to join the Service Development Team within Environment, Housing and Infrastructure to support operational services with the administrative work to ensure workforce development including training needs are identified, organised and recorded.

 

This role will support in the development and improvement of service workforce processes and procedures, documenting steps to record what training has been completed, scheduled or is outstanding, retaining training records in line with our retention policies, and support a consistent approach across all services within the Department to ensure all training timescales and mandatory requirements are adhered to.

 

Working closely with Service Managers you will monitor and manage the day-to-day administration of the Service Training budget, ensuring this is used to deliver mandatory and high-risk area training as a priority and that regular reports showing spend analysis and projections are available for discussion.

 

You will be confident working with complex data sets and be able to analyse and apply that knowledge to provide the evidence to support decision making around training needs, identifying mandatory training gaps and provide a range of visual aids to present this information to support ongoing service improvement work.

 

An HNC, SVQ or relevant appropriate qualification is essential together with relevant experience of business management activities (planning, organising and controlling business processes) within a large multi-disciplinary organisation and wider employee support. You will need experience of supporting workforce development and training, recording details and supporting managers, ideally within a frontline service area.

 

Highly organised, with an eye for detail and a can-do attitude you will be confident maintaining complex data sets and control ICT systems/applications. Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to speak to, and advise, a wide range of stakeholders across a range of services is essential.

 

You must be able to work in a logical and consistent manner following existing detailed procedures, have experience of computer skills (including use of systems, data and management tools), a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications or equivalent and be keen to learn new applications and technology.

 

With an ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple demands, you will have delivered projects within agreed timescales and can bring this experience to support and implement change, influencing and working well with colleagues, Elected Members, and customers within this role.

 

You must be willing and able to travel across the Renfrewshire to all waste and recycling locations and other council sites as required.

 

Knowledge of wider ICT systems such as audit and process mapping software and experience of using Business World ERP system, monitoring and day-to-day management of a budget is desirable.

 

A driving licence, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are also desirable.
