Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic social work team committed to supporting individuals, families, and communities across the Central Borders. As a Social Work Paraprofessional, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred support, promoting independence, and improving outcomes for those who require assistance.

Working alongside social workers, nurse care managers, occupational therapists and partner agencies, you will contribute to assessments, support planning, and the delivery of practical interventions, helping to ensure people who are assessed as requiring a service receive the right support at the right time. We place a strong emphasis on early intervention, prevention, and strengths-based practice, while fostering positive professional relationships with colleagues, services, and community networks.

If you are motivated, compassionate, and committed to making a positive difference in people's lives, we would welcome your application to join our supportive and forward-thinking team.

We very much welcome informal enquiries to discuss more about the role.

Essential

HNC in Social Care & Health or equivalent studies, and full SVQ3 in Care or equivalent.

Experienced applicants will be considered, where there is evidence, and agreement to complete relevant qualification within 2 years from appointment.

* If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role
