Role Purpose

Join our newly formed Active Travel and Transport Team and help shape the future of how people move around the Scottish Borders. We’re looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, practical and people‑focused — someone who enjoys being outdoors, solving problems, and making a real difference in local communities. In this role, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team working to maintain and improve the paths, routes and places that help residents and visitors travel actively and enjoy the countryside. If you care about great customer service, love varied work, and want the chance to grow your skills on the job, this is a brilliant opportunity to get involved. We need someone who has an interest or experience in practical 'hands on' construction skills and the ability to construct or repair various path surfaces, footbridges, countryside furniture etc. and who can demonstrate the ability to increase their skills by undertaking training which can be delivered in the role.
