Role Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Transport Officer to support the planning, coordination and delivery of high quality transport services across the Scottish Borders. Working closely with the Senior Transport Officer, you will help deliver safe, efficient and customer focused school transport and other contracted services, ensuring compliance with Council policies and health and safety requirements. The role involves developing and monitoring performance standards, supporting complex and emergency transport solutions, managing service disruptions, and helping to achieve best value across Education and Social Work transport contracts. You will also contribute to continuous improvement, build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners, and take part in an out of hours rota to ensure timely communication during service disruptions. This is a varied and operational role requiring strong organisational skills, technical knowledge and a collaborative approach to delivering reliable transport solutions

Essential

Educated to SVQ LEVEL 6 Business Management or equivalent OR relevant industry experience, knowledge and skills necessary to undertake the role
