This vision is at the heart of our Youth, Family and Community Learning (YFCL) Service, and we are looking for an experienced, motivated and values-driven Team Leader to help shape and deliver this ambition across our communities.

As a Youth, Family and Community Learning Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in leading, managing and developing a team to create high-quality services and learning opportunities that support young people, families, adults and communities to achieve positive outcomes through learning, personal development and community engagement opportunities. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will provide leadership to a team of Youth, Family and Community Learning Officers, Workers and volunteers, ensuring services are responsive, innovative and aligned to local and strategic priorities.

Rooted in the values and principles of Community Learning and Development (CLD), you will champion inclusion, empowerment, self-determination, social justice and lifelong learning. Through a strengths-based and collaborative approach, you will lead your team and work alongside communities, partners and stakeholders to identify needs, build on existing assets and create opportunities that enable meaningful participation, achievement and positive change.

The role involves providing operational leadership and professional supervision across a range of programmes delivered in local communities, YFCL establishments, schools and partner settings. You will support, develop and inspire staff to deliver high-quality practice, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and excellence.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing planning, performance management, quality assurance and resource allocation within your establishment, ensuring programmes are delivering measurable impact and achieving agreed outcomes. You will lead the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of your team’s performance, using evidence and data to inform decision-making, demonstrate impact and support future developments.

Working closely with Managers, colleagues and partner agencies, you will build and maintain effective partner relationships that enhance opportunities for collaborative working and maximise outcomes for individuals, families and communities. You will contribute to the development and implementation of local and service-wide priorities, identifying opportunities for growth, innovation and continuous improvement.

Reporting to Youth, Family and Community Learning Co-ordinator you will play a key role in the operational leadership of the service, ensuring that resources are used effectively and that teams are supported to deliver high-quality, inclusive and impactful provision. You will lead by example, fostering a culture that empowers staff, strengthens partnerships and delivers lasting positive change.
