Requirements
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women’s Justice Service and we are looking to recruit a part time Social Work Assistant to join our team. The Women’s Justice Service provides tailored, trauma informed supports to women across South Lanarkshire who have found themselves involved with the justice system.
The key aim of the service is to support women involved with the Justice System to reduce elements of risk and to support the individual to achieve positive destinations. The successful candidate will co-facilitate weekly Women’s Hubs in locations across South Lanarkshire and provide one to one support and assessment as required. They will also provide input into the ongoing development of the service.
Please note the role requires availability on at least three of four days from Tuesday to Friday. The role requires a strong value base with a non-judgemental approach; excellent relationship building skills; an ability to work with partner agencies; strong verbal and written communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving. The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge of trauma informed practice and experience of working with women in vulnerable situations, preferably but not necessarily within the justice system.
The successful candidate should have an HNC or other relevant equivalent qualification in health and social care. Applicants should be willing to undertake any necessary training required for the role.

Foreign Police Check
Candidates should be able to detail any gaps in employment and provide a foreign police check where applicable for any periods living or working abroad.

Regulated Work with Protected Adults
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
