Job Description

Housing & Technical Resources Location: Brandongate, Leechlee Road, Hamilton Hours: 35 hours per week Duration: Permanent We deliver an integrated Design, Contract and Project management service based on strong links between our Building Services and Consultancy Services sections and private sector construction professionals and contractors therefore having the ability to interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders and partners is an essential requirement of the post. An opportunity has arisen within Housing & Technical Resources for a motivated estimator to join our Building Services team. Your primary role will be to assist with the delivery of an estimating service on a daily basis reporting to the Project Manager. You will be required to work to pre-determined timescales and targets and will bring to the position a sound knowledge of new build and renovation projects, conditions of contract and health and safety legislation. You will deliver an estimating service relative to the contracts and maintenance sections of Building Services and with your knowledge and experience you will be expected to provide practical advice on contractual issues, tender resourcing, and post tender analysis. You should be able to work as part of a team and on an individual basis as well as having the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines consistently. It is essential that you have experience of effectively solving problems together with a proven track record within an estimating related environment. Experience of an industry standard estimating system and working within a quality management system would be advantageous. You should demonstrate a commitment to the principles of customer care, while displaying excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate previous experience of working to targets and pre-determined timescales along with an awareness of health and safety in the workplace. It is essential that you have a proven track record of working within a property/ construction environment and you will display professionalism and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
