Fixed Term until 31st December 2024.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the Housing Support Team based within the Central Homelessness & Support Service, South Lanarkshire Council. The Housing Support Officer (Resettlement) is part of a small team who offer intensive support to individuals involved in the MAPPA process.

As a Housing Support Officer (Resettlement) you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of services to support individuals involved in the MAPPA process.

You should have extensive experience in providing intensive support to vulnerable and complex individuals. Experience in providing housing advice within the prison establishments is also essential.

Possession of a relevant qualification in Housing, Social Care or equivalent is desirable but not essential for appointment. However, the Housing Support Service is registered with the SSSC and the successful candidate will be required to register and undertake training as appropriate.

You will be required to work on a multi agency basis to develop individual support plans therefore, you should possess excellent communication skills, understand current issues and legislation in relation to the those involved in the justice system.

You should be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of a variety of IT packages and have the ability to organise and prioritise workload, your own and that of others, in an effective way and to respond and adapt to changing priorities required in delivering a quality service.

The Council is committed to maintaining the skills and competence of our housing support staff staff. As part of your duties, you will be required to undertake further training and/or qualifications, including those introduced by the Scottish Social Services Council for employees working in the housing support sector.

This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.

You will be subject to a criminal records check provided through Disclosure Scotland.

This post is also subject to the Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003.

This post is also subject to the Adult Protection Scotland Act 2008.
