Job Description

About the school:

Loch Primary School takes its name from the old Boating Loch on which the first school was sited.  A parish magazine from 1965 stated this to be ‘a popular resort, with talk and laughter by young and old on sunny evenings and occasional ice skating and curling in the winter’.

The original Loch Primary School was built in 1965 and officially opened in 1966. The new school was built on the same site in 2009 and was officially opened in 2010. Our school badge reflects the history of the local area. The ‘L’ stands for the loch, the St Andrews cross reminds us that we are a Scottish school with a Christian heritage, and the waves represent the water.

Having moved into our new school we received additional funding to carry out an Art Project. All of our pupils worked with artist Deborah Campbell, to produce mosaic tiles and a textile wall hanging, in keeping with the historical background of Loch Primary School.
