Valuer: Grade 8 (SCP 74-80) - £41,115.00 to £44,965.54
Trainee Valuer (Graduate): Grade 5 (SCP 42-48) to Grade 6 (SCP 56-62) - £26,497.55 to £34,946.84.
Dunbartonshire and Argyll & Bute Valuation Joint Board is an independent local government body. We compile and maintain the Valuation Rolls, Council Tax Valuation Lists and Registers of Electors for the Argyll & Bute, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire Council areas. The Board employs approximately 50 people across our office locations in Clydebank and Campbeltown.
We are seeking a Chartered Surveyor (Valuation Faculty) with experience in valuation for Rating and Council Tax. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out property inspections, analyse rental and sales transactions, devise schemes of valuation, and carry out valuations for the purposes of the Lands Valuation Acts and the Local Government Finance Act 1992. In addition you will also negotiate proposals / appeals with taxpayers / professional agents and act as an expert witness at tribunals and hearings as required.
Requirements
Applicants must be computer literate and should have excellent communication/negotiation and team working skills. You will have a positive, professional, and responsible attitude, coupled with the ability to multi-task, while ensuring strict deadlines are achieved. You will have the ability to work as part of a team or individually, and be expected to guide and mentor trainees as required.
Consideration will also be given to Graduate trainee valuers (salary placement will depend on qualification and experience) with an RICS accredited degree in Land Economics/Real Estate or similar qualification, who will work toward qualifying as a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes is required for this role.
