This is a fixed term post until 30th August 2025.
We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our Citizen Services team as a Benefits Assessor call handler.
The focus of the role is working within a call center environment to help answer queries regarding Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Universal Credit. The successful candidate will provide high quality customer service to support citizens of West Dunbartonshire towards completing online successful applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction. This will include all citizens of West Dunbartonshire council, private landlords, Registered Social landlords and owner occupiers in line with legislation and agreed audit recommendations You will help gather information to assess claims in line with verification standards and deal with enquiries about housing benefit /council tax reduction from citizens and their representatives.
We are committed to ensure that systems are accurately maintained and up to date in compliance with procedures and be able to manage large volume of telephone calls and complete applications for citizens.
The preferred candidate will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
