Job Description

This is a part time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.

Hours of work will be 18.5 hrs per week, working either 7.00am – 3.00pm or 10.00am - 6.00pm. This will include weekend shifts.

The Cook will form part of the Catering Team within the Care Home and Day Centre for older people.

The post holder will assist the Catering Manager with the day to day operational requirements of the kitchen. Duties will Include, food preparation, cooking of nutritional meals and special diets, service of all foods and supervision of staff. The post holder will ensure that the cleaning, maintenance and checking of equipment are completed and relevant paper work is recorded and reported as required in order to comply with Cook Safe regulations.


Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities
