A vacancy has arisen within the Adult Learning and Literacies Team of the Working4U Service.
We are seeking to appoint a Working4U Development Officer (Community Learning and Development Worker) to deliver learning and development services for Adult Learners and their families across West Dunbartonshire and to manage associated resources.
We are part of the Working4U service, which supports West Dunbartonshire residents seeking employment opportunities, providing assistance with benefits and debt issues and helping to access learning, gain qualifications and improve digital literacy.
With an appropriate qualification you will have a vision for the development and delivery of high quality services which engage with adults and their families and meet their needs along with an understanding of the policies which drive the CL&D agenda for Adult Learning and support the delivery of Fairer Futures Partnerships programme. Fairer Futures Partnerships (FFP) is a Scottish Government programme that brings together national and local partners to deliver place based, whole‑family support aimed at reducing child poverty.
The Adult Learning Development officer would be designing and delivering a range of learning opportunities supporting parents and their families who are impacted by community justice. Delivering one to one and groupwork support, you will support parents and their families to enhance their personal, social and educational skills as well as providing whole family support.
The post holder will be expected to work with a range of partners to tackle the challenges of West Dunbartonshire Community Planning Outcomes and the West Dunbartonshire Community Learning and Development Plan 2024-27. The post holder will also work closely with our community justice partners, The Lennox Partnership and wider Working4U services to deliver adult and family learning opportunities for parents and their families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering learning opportunities in line with assessed need and, as such, they should have an understanding of the processes used in Adult Learning work as well as the ability to engage with adults in a positive manner to deliver structured learning programmes.
In addition the post holder would be expected to contribute to the department’s performance management processes, to self-evaluate their work individually and with partners and to be able to offer feedback to stakeholders.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
