Job Description

This is a fixed term post until 31/03/2025.

Working4U is a service which supports West Dunbartonshire residents seeking employment opportunities, provide assistance with benefits and debt issues, help to access learning, gain qualifications and improve digital literacy. Our aim is "to support customers and communities to improve their skills, learning and financial situations, assisting them on their journey into work and protecting the rights of our citizens".

The main purpose of this post is supporting 16-24 year old residents to move into and sustain employment through various interventions such as apprenticeships, training and education. The post will support residents aged 16-24 who may have significant barriers to employment by delivering the Thrive personal development programme. Thrive is an early intervention project which involves training delivery as well as a key worker approach. The post holder should have experience of delivering SQA qualifications, be assessor qualified and have experience of delivering community learning and development programme. A youth work or community learning and development degree would be advantageous.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.

The Individual
