A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the housing Allocations Team in West Lothian Council. This is a chance for a skilled and motivated individual to take the lead role in making a difference to the lives of applicants, current tenants and those who are experiencing homelessness.

The Allocations Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development, operational management and continuous improvement of West Lothian Council's housing allocations service. The post ensures the Council fulfils its statutory duties in maintaining the housing register and delivering a fair, transparent and legally compliant social housing allocations policy.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a driven and energetic individual with proven leadership qualities and a track record of managing and motivating successful, outcome driven teams. The right candidate will have experience of delivering effective management in a challenging environment of high demand and target led activity.

We are seeking an individual who has direct experience of creating new ways of working to find efficiencies in practice and service delivery. The post requires someone with strengths in working in partnership and someone who has contributed to designing and delivering services tailored to the needs of applicants/customers.

We are seeking an applicant with outstanding planning, communication and line management skills and who can help sustain and grow our staff capability and skills, and who enjoys working as part of a management team driven by a similar desire to achieve and improve the lives of customers.
