Exciting opportunities have arisen for 2 Licensing Assistants to join West Lothian Council’s Legal Services.

Appointments will be made on the following Grade:-

• Grade 4 (£32,134.92 - £34,011.96)

West Lothian Council is one of Scotland’s most successful local authorities and is based in Livingston.

Legal Services provides comprehensive legal and committee services to the council and comprises four teams – Property/Planning, Litigation, Licensing and Committee Services.

These posts sit within the Licensing Team and are varied, challenging and rewarding roles within a small and busy team.  As a Licensing Assistant within Legal Services, you will be expected to process applications for licences in compliance with the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 and the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and undertake a full range of administrative and advisory duties required to support delivery, and implementation, of the council’s statutory duties as Licensing Authority.

The successful candidates will have excellent written and oral communication and team working skills. They will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in customer service and a flexible approach to meeting changing demands and priorities. 

These are full-time posts, however, part-time job share may be considered.
