We are looking for a candidate who will work with, and in support of, all council services to help maximise council effectiveness through analytics, performance data, learning and improvement.

You will be part of a leadership team in a new Business Support Service, with responsibility for managing a data-driven corporate performance team as part of the wider performance and business support offer to council services.

You will manage a team to deliver performance management support, improvement and information assurance to every council service. This will include the provision of proactive support and advisory services that will help council services to improve performance and increase compliance with regulatory performance requirements and corporate policies and procedures.

You will have a strong focus on data, performance and understanding the customer experience and will have the necessary knowledge and skills to lead on the development and implementation of a corporate performance management framework that meets local and national needs.

You will have experience of providing analytical and quality assurance support to leaders, managers and other stakeholders. You will support the council to develop internal scrutiny arrangements and support the development and implementation of the council’s scrutiny and quality assurance arrangements, including the co-ordination of the Review Panel internal scrutiny process and providing advice to the Panel on performance matters.

You must be able to lead on council-wide improvement and development activities, including leading on the development of corporate plans and strategies.

You will be required to represent the council on external groups that support the development of self-evaluation, benchmarking and performance management approaches in the public sector and should have the necessary knowledge and experience to influence positive change in this work.
