The Quality Improvement Manager (Primary & Early Years) will deliver effective leadership and will have management responsibility for the ongoing improvement agenda for early learning centres and primary schools across West Lothian. The Quality Improvement Manager, as part of the Education Senior Management Team, will provide strategic management and guidance to enable the service to deliver the highest quality of education for all young people and children in schools across West Lothian.

In addition, the Quality Improvement Manager provides support and challenge to all school leaders in early learning centres and primary schools to ensure that the overall management and development of professional and educational practice is of the highest standards and in line with national priorities. The postholder plays a critical role in raising attainment and achievement in schools, enabling the council to fulfil its statutory function for school improvement.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council
