Little Bugs Nursery

Little Bugs is a sector-leading outdoor nursery delivering high-quality early learning and childcare for children aged 2–8. We operate two unique woodland settings at Fordell Firs Scout Headquarters in Fife and at Abercorn on the Hopetoun Estate in South Queensferry.

Our practice is rooted in play pedagogy, wellbeing, and Learning for Sustainability. We provide rich, child-led environments where children spend their days immersed in nature developing confidence, resilience, creativity, and a deep connection to the world around them.

At Little Bugs, we are deeply committed to inclusion and equity. We specialise in supporting children with additional support needs and those who may not thrive in traditional indoor settings, offering a nurturing, relational approach that prioritises emotional wellbeing, regulation, and belonging.
